Custom group tours of the historic Decatur House Museum allow visitors the opportunity to experience first-hand the merging of history, architecture and preservation in this exquisite 1818 Lafayette Square mansion.

Decatur House is happy to provide a tour customized to your group's interests. Past custom tours have focused on the property's African American history, restoration work in process, women's history, interior design, early Washington history, the growth of the historic preservation movement, and the history of Lafayette Square.

Beginning in April 2007, Decatur House will also offer audio tours of Lafayette Square, free of charge, using Guide by Cell technology that delivers the audio content via visitors' cell phones.

Custom Tour Rates (per person):

• Groups of 10 to 25: $5.00
• Groups of 25 to 50: $25.00 plus $5.00
• Groups of 50 or more: $25.00 for every 10 people, plus $5.00
• School Groups: Students and Classes registering for tours and school programs are welcome free of charge. Please click here for a full description of our K-12 program.

In addition to a custom tour conducted by a member of the Decatur House guide staff, additional time can be set aside for viewing for permanent and changing exhibits in our exhibition gallery and browsing through our acclaimed museum shop.
