Event Rental Rates
Decatur Carriage
House and Courtyard
Weekday Event and Reception
Rates (Monday through Thursday)
• $4700
• $3700 (501 C-3 organizations)**

Event Rates allow for up to three hours for your event and four hours
for set & clean up.
Meeting Rates (weekday)
• $250/mtg hour (over
50 guests)
• $175/mtg hour (less than 50 guests)
• 100 per set and clean-up hour and $450 per lunch hour**
**There is a three hour minimum
for all meeting rentals. Meetings must take place between 6 a.m. and
4 p.m. with cleanup concluding by 5 p.m. Meetings that need to extend
past 4 p.m. will incur an Event and Reception rental charge (see events
and reception rates). Business meeting rental rates allow for minimal
food and beverage, but do not cover access to kitchen or service space
to support a full-service catered meal. An additional fee of $450 will
be applied to a catered meal taking place during a business meeting
rental.
Weekend Event and
Reception Rates (Friday through Sunday)
• $6,200 half-day rentals
(8 hour block)
• $7,300 full-day rentals (10 hour block)**
**Weekend (Fri–Sun)
Event Rates allow for an eight (8) or ten (10) hour block of time. Both
blocks allow for a minimum of three hours for set & clean up with
the remaining hours for your event. Events must take place between 9
a.m. and 12 midnight. An eight hour rental allows for use of the Carriage
House, Courtyard, and museum tours. A ten hour includes use of the Carriage
House, Courtyard, museum tours, a one hour ceremony rehearsal, and arrangements
of photos inside the historic house.
Historic Entertaining
Parlors
• $4700 Standing Reception
• $5700 Seated Event
Historic Parlor Rates include
up to three hours for your event and four hours for set up and clean
up. These rental fees are partially considered a tax-deductible donation
to the Decatur House Museum.
Fees and Restrictions
MEMBERSHIP: A membership fee
of $100 (private and non-profit) or
$200 (corporate) to the Friends of Decatur House is required of all
contracting parties renting Decatur House.
SECURITY DEPOSIT: A $500 refundable
security deposit is required of all contracting parties and will be refunded
no later than thirty (30) calendar days after the event, if it is determined
that no damage has occurred and no other charges are outstanding.
WEDDING CEREMONY FEE: A $500
ceremony fee applies to all of the
above rental rates and also allows for one hour of rehearsal time and
an additional on-site event coordinator.
OVERTIME: Event time is counted
when you or your first guest arrives and
ends when you or your last guest leaves. Any event overtime will be billed
at $450 per hour, or any fraction there of. For events requiring more
than its allotted time for setup and clean-up, the Contracting Party will
be charged
$100 for each additional hour.
HOLIDAY/HEAVY SEASON CHARGE:
For events being held on a holiday
or heavy season day, Decatur House requires an additional donation as
part
of the rental fee. Please refer to the Director of Site Rentals for specific
charges.
EXCLUSIVE TENT VENDOR: Sugarplum
Tent Company is Decatur House's exclusive tent provider. Please call Barbi
Richardson at Sugarplum Tent Company at 301-869-2054 for discounted tenting
packages for your special event!
AUDIO-VISUAL PACKAGE: Decatur
House offers audio visual equipment
for a minimal usage fee including Podium with Podium Microphone,
Wireless Hand-held Microphone, Wall-mounted Motorized 8x10 Screen,
Ceiling Mounted LCD Projector with Remote Control System, Computer
and Video Hook Up (DVD/VCR) , DSL Service (multiple data ports
throughout the Carriage House), Telephone Line Access, Five-disc
CD Player, Sound System, and Mecho Shades on all Windows and
Sky Lights with Remote Control System.
RESTRICTIONS: Cash bars are
not permitted. The throwing of rice,
confetti, birdseed, flower petals and bubble blowing are not allowed.
No food or drink is permitted in the Museum, unless as part of a Historic
Entertaining Parlors rental. No red beverage or food (berries, red wine,
cranberry or tomato juice) is permitted in the Gallery or Museum. Functions
must end by 12 midnight, music and dancing must end by 11:30 p.m.
CANCELLATIONS: The full amount
of the rental fee deposit (less a $500 processing fee) shall be returned
to the Contracting Party if the Director
of Special Events is notified of the cancellation at least six (6) months
prior
to the contracted event date. Between six and five months notice of
cancellation, one-half (1/2) of the rental fee deposit will be returned.
After
five months, there will be no refund.
